Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
I am currently reading the translation of the Quran, from page 1. And I am determined to read it cover to cover. To understand it.<br />
<br />
One of the Surah that I feel amazed by is Surah Yusuf. The entire Surah is dedicated to Prophet Yusuf AS and his life story. This Surah was revealed during the Year of Sorrow when Prophet Muhammad SAW suffered difficulty by the loss of Khadijah & Abu Talib as well as the situation he faced in Taif.<br />
It is meant to comfort Rasulullah and to strengthen him in times of trials and tribulations.<br />
<br />
One of the lectures that I really really love about Surah Yusuf is this one by Mufti Menk. So insightful. May we benefit from this and may we be among the righteous. Amin.<br />

Assalamualaikum.<br />
<br />
DAY 5.<br />
<br />
That day was supposed to end pretty early, our flight was at 1145 am.<br />
However, in the morning, I got a message from Agus saying that flights are getting cancelled/delayed at the airport. Apparently, last night there was a Garuda airplane slipped on the runway due to the rain. And since the airport is quite small, it interrupts a lot of flights that day.<br />
<br />
Immediately I checked my emails to see if there were any news. No news.<br />
So, we decided to just go to the airport, to check what is happening.<br />
<br />
But as per original plan, we didn't go to the airport straight away. We went to the local football club's PSS Sleman stadium, the Maguwoharjo stadion. As a lot of you know already, me & FF always try to go to the local football stadiums (if there's one) anywhere we go. It started because we're both fans of football and since we have a "football shrine" at home, we could add our visits to stadiums around the world in our collection. Follow #IFInvadingStadiums for the collection.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTiRKtQfVCcHu7eb4UeBFVcDrU1RtrMXPg-8i-pBVYTYpUTawGHNAUfDALaKdrye3-IWyTw97vsoO1nhIW2dM6bwND1ME4KpS9A1K6O0BCXhNCWEk7W87zaS-hskRejkS1Fg/s1600/20170202_092331.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTiRKtQfVCcHu7eb4UeBFVcDrU1RtrMXPg-8i-pBVYTYpUTawGHNAUfDALaKdrye3-IWyTw97vsoO1nhIW2dM6bwND1ME4KpS9A1K6O0BCXhNCWEk7W87zaS-hskRejkS1Fg/s400/20170202_092331.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Although PSS Sleman is considered quite a small club compared to Persib (Bandung) or Persija (Jakarta), but the atmosphere inside the stadium is amazing. Look at the video below:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What an atmosphere!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Their mascot is the Garuda, which is an ancient mystical bird. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After our short time at the stadium, we went to the airport. It was so crowded and we saw some Malaysians just arriving at the airport for their flight too. I went to AirAsia customer service centre (it was tiny!) and was informed that the runway will only be open at 3PM! And there is still no information yet when our flight is due. Looking at the screen of arrival/departures, we saw that all the domestic flights (except for Jakarta) are cancelled. The International only had "Delayed" on it but there is no possible timing.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After staying about 30 minutes at the airport, we decided to go someplace else as there is still no news of our flight. It was only 930AM and we have many more hours to wait. We got Agus to drop us at the biggest mall in Jogja, Amburuksumo Mall. Before he dropped us there though, we went round the airport to see the Garuda plane that caused the commotion. The plane skidded off the runway and its tyres were stuck in the muddy grasses where it stopped. And the plane also blocked the path to the parking of the planes. So, no flight were able to get past the runway to the parking or from the parking to the runway. Reports are saying that flights are re-routed to Solo that night it happened.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When we got to the mall, first stop was to Gramedia, where we bought some books we wanted to buy and then, seeing that we have a lot of time to spare, we went to see an Indonesian movie, From London to Bali. After buying the tickets, I got an email saying our flight is delayed to 6PM. I was quite relieved because I was ready to go home.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Alhamdulillah, we arrived safely, or else I wouldn't be here sharing my travels with you.<br />
I hope that I could share more of my travels and give as much information about it so that it could benefit you guys if you are planning to go there.<br />
Alhamdulillah, what I am able to do now is thanks to Allah who have given me so much blessings. Life in this world is not all sunshine, it's harsh. But by being patient, relying on Him and trusting Him makes me feel much happier.<br />

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
Continuation of DAY 4, after the Timang Adventure.<br />
<br />
After Timang, I told our supir Agus that our next destination is Jogan Beach. He told us that he's never been there but it should not be that far away. So, we made our way and found the sign to Jogan and then asked around about the whereabouts. Some parts in this area doesn't have signal so we rely on the directions from the locals. But, not to worry because the road are not that confusing. Those who are used to this area should be able to navigate just fine.<br />
<br />
When we arrived at Jogan, we didn't see it at first. But we could hear the sound of the ocean. Then, we saw a small bridge above a small river. This part of the river is actually called estuary (muara sungai). The river overflows into a waterfall that leads to the ocean. The imagery here is so beautiful. Subhanallah, so so beautiful!<br />

Amazing isn't it? The world that Allah created is so beautiful but as He promised, the world of the hereafter is even more beautiful. So, how much more beautiful will that be? </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
After our time at Jogan Beach, we went downwards to Kukup Beach. But before getting to Kukup, we stopped at Indrayanti Beach. Indrayanti is one of the popular beaches for tourists. We stopped by to see what's so special about it. The sand here is so soft! So very soft that I feel like I want to lie down there! The view is not too bad and the wind is cool. For a more relaxing time, you can stay here. I guess that is why the beach is popular, some "bule" (mat salleh) love to wind down at beaches. And this is the perfect spot to relax.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Next, we made our way to Kukup Beach. Kukup is deemed as the Tanah Lot for Yogyakarta. Here, there are more people. And also there are amateur local photographers who will randomly take your photos and then approach you, selling the photos. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
For about 20 minutes or so, we stayed here and take photos, admiring the place. I wanted to go up the rocks but FF said, the view is still the ocean haha. I think he was already quite tired. We enjoyed looking at the waves though. The waves here are so strong. We took so many videos and boomerangs during our trip but just don't know if we have the time to share them. We'll see, from time to time I will update the entries with videos.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Note: There is no entry for Jogan, but only pay the parking which is 5k rupiah.<br />
For Indrayanti, Kukup, Baron, Krakal (the beaches downwards), it's 10k for entry and then 5k parking for each beaches.<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
On the way back, we asked Agus to bring us to Sate Klatak for dinner. Sate Klatak is actually lamb sate using metal skewers. In this way, it ensures that the lamb is cooked thoroughly. For me, it's good but not out of the ordinary. We also have lamb sate in Malaysia.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
That night, our plan was to go do some souvenirs shopping in Malioboro as our hotel is near there. But it rained so heavily that night that it's quite impossible to go out. And because of this rain, something happened, which made our flight delayed the next day.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Til the next entry, last day in Yogyakarta!</div>

Assalamualaikum.<br />
<br />
DAY 4<br />
<br />
We started at 830 AM and went straight for Timang Beach. The journey takes about 2 and half hours. On the way to Timang, other tourists usually stop at Goa Pindul for cave tubing and Goa Jomblang for caving acitivity and seeing "cahaya surga" (sunlight emitting into the cave from a hole above the cave). We opt out the trip because this type of activities can be found in Malaysia too. But if you have time and want to go, just inform your supir and he will advise you on the costs.<br />
<br />
For Timang, the cars need to park at a specified parking as cars are not able to use the road to get to the port. You have to get an "ojek" (motorcycle) for 50k rupiah per person for a return journey. The journey using ojek is about 3-4km of extreme terrains. The ride was super bumpy and quite rough. When the journey was over, the moment you step down from the motorbike, you feel your legs shaking. But, the view once you get down the bike doesn't disappoint you.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjazIjwKzkp-eHY-HakZbFEFkzi_3Gues8Rl3buZsv9GfPMQxoQh68yOq02NsqLDRSOYHjZgwH6LFhy65vaaxuZ4k69TE_Vq1yAAbslVwJZv6F13xOi5cXea1K7U0Jx0jn_fg/s1600/20170201_103020.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjazIjwKzkp-eHY-HakZbFEFkzi_3Gues8Rl3buZsv9GfPMQxoQh68yOq02NsqLDRSOYHjZgwH6LFhy65vaaxuZ4k69TE_Vq1yAAbslVwJZv6F13xOi5cXea1K7U0Jx0jn_fg/s640/20170201_103020.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is only the beginning. You still need to walk over to the gondola area. Because the island is quite coarse and the terrain is rocky because of the corrosion made by the waves, so expect not to be able to walk smoothly. For girls especially, wear a comfortable footwear, preferably sneakers!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYrjICersG6a27CY0QJAODiuukyN9zs13WyMHe2j9UR2yhM0mrsmgVQgjzZOcdwiqC5r7ktdw6d-Vlgl4US06yYnaL4IuE5dTJwHQNhDKCkQD6WEGIdvF0op3eBbSL0yJEvA/s1600/20170201_115419.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYrjICersG6a27CY0QJAODiuukyN9zs13WyMHe2j9UR2yhM0mrsmgVQgjzZOcdwiqC5r7ktdw6d-Vlgl4US06yYnaL4IuE5dTJwHQNhDKCkQD6WEGIdvF0op3eBbSL0yJEvA/s640/20170201_115419.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
There is a small hut for you to eat or drink here, don't worry it's cheap. One thing to note: Food from simple local joints are really cheap. The price of a single meal at Malioboro is equivalent to 3 meals elsewhere. If you are the type who are not comfortable to eat at local stalls, prepare some on-the-go food everywhere you go. Indomaret is a shop similar to 7 eleven, it's everywhere and very good for on-the-go food.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Back to Timang, some people might be taken aback looking at the gondola. But because I have read that it is fairly safe, so I didn't worry much. When you look at the rocky terrains and the waves, they look vicious. They FEEL vicious. But just relax and enjoy. Once you get to the island, the ride will be worth it. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Going to the Island: Riding together.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This Island is actually not called Timang. Timang beach is actually where the port is. The rocky island is called Panjang Island, where locals fish for lobsters. This gondola is man-made and operated by the locals for fishing on the island. That is why there is no official road getting here because it used to be only for the fishermen. However, this spot became famous after the gondola pictures went viral in 2015.<br />
<br />
The gondola is actually well-maintained and the locals make sure the ropes are changed regularly. The gondola is also manned manually, purely humans operating it not machines! For lobster fishing, the fishermen will set up their nets at 4 PM and will pick the nets up at 4 AM. This is because if they pick it up too late, some other fish or water snakes will eat the lobster that has been caught inside the net. The lobster season is around November to February but when we were there, we didn't get to eat lobster as the stock they had had finished. For lobster meal, it's 450k rupiah for 1kg lobster, including rice, ulam etc.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
That's one of the local fishermen, actually showing us the spot where they put up nets for lobster. That rock he is on is actually quite hard to get to, especially when the sea is so rough. But he is the expert! There was another young local with him too, even he is scared to follow him.</div>

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
The continuation of Day 3.<br />
<br />
After checking in to our hotel, we went to Tebing Breksi. We decided impromptu to go here since there was a lot of time left to explore places. Here, we paid 10k rupiah for parking. No entrance fee.<br />
Tebing Breksi is just a viewing place, although the view is amazing but for me, it's not that interesting. We did enjoy our time there albeit just normal and enjoyed the catchphrases we found atop the rock.<br />
<br />
One of the things we found amusing in Indonesia is, the people are so creative that they're able to come up with witty catchphrases. Like the viral Om Telolet Om.<br />

After Tebing Breksi, we went to Candi Ijo. Why Candi Ijo? Firstly, it's one of the popular temple spot to go (even though I think mostly locals are the ones who goes here). I've seen the picture and thought that if we have enough time, then I'll consider to go here. Second, after discussion with our supir the previous day, Agung, he suggested us to go here. Because it's near to Ratu Boko and Ramayana, etc. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Ijo Temple is actually not that far from Tebing Breksi. Perhaps about 5 minutes by car and it is the highest temple in Yogyakarta overlooking such an awesome view of Yogyakarta. It's a Hindu temple built around the 10th century, thought to be under the Medang Mataram kingdom of Hinduism. The name Ijo was depicted from scripture that points to this temple. </div>

The sunset in Yogyakarta is about 530PM onwards. We started our way to Ratu Boko Palace at about 430PM maybe? The ticket at Ratu Boko differs by the time that you visit. After 3PM, the ticket is quite expensive. It's 125k per person, I think this was the International price. The ticket is included with food & drinks after viewing sunset. You can pay the ticket by using credit card also here. Here, it's possible to try and "be local". You will get cheaper price. Our ticket was charged International because Agus went ahead to the ticketing office and told them he is bringing tourists (minus point for having him as supir). </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
You need to climb stairs a little to get to Ratu Boko Palace. The name Ratu Boko Palace derived from the Loro Jonggrang tales from the locals about the princess that lived on this place. It's real name is still unknown as no scriptures about this place were found. It is found that the place was probably a palace, transformed into a fortress and then also as a religious temple. Both elements from Buddhism and Hinduism was found around the complex. The Jalatunda, a well from the Loro Jonggrang tale is also found here. The water from the well is used by Hindu for religious purpose such as for Nyepi and etc.<br />

This was Maghrib time, we had our dinner that's included in the ticket and also solat at the restaurant of Ratu Boko.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
At 7PM we made our way to watch Ramayana Show. The show starts at 730PM. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is able to catch this show. It's not on every night, there are specific dates and coincidentally, we were able to catch the show. If you do want to watch this, inform your supir earlier (possibly while you're still in Malaysia) so that he can arrange on the dates the show is available. The story is about Ramayana & Sita and this is actually was sculptured on the wall of Prambanan Temple. What's interesting is the Javanese feel to the story with the Javanese ballet, so intriguing and artistic.</div>

<br /></div>
Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
DAY 3<br />
<br />
This day, we had new supir which is the one I contacted when I was in Malaysia, Agus. Agus is quite popular supir in Yogyakarta especially among foreigners. At first I thought Agus is much older than I am, but surprisingly he is younger! But, he has a lot of experience with foreigners already.<br />
<br />
I told Agus to pick us up early. Our first destination is the Prambanan Complex. It opens at 6AM too, just like Borobudur. We arrived at Prambanan before 630 AM if I'm not mistaken. Already outside the complex we could see school children wandering around, waiting to go inside Prambanan. We immediately went inside, presented our tickets (the combo ticket that we bought at Borobudur), and walked straight in. The complex is big, the walk is...lumayan lah! But Alhamdulillah, slow and steady. Our target is Prambanan temple and Sewu temple.<br />
<br />
What's interesting is Prambanan is a Hindu temple and Sewu is a Buddhist temple. It's situated not far from each other and it is believed that during the 8th century, the Syailendra and Medang Mataram dynasty co-existed wih one another and had intermarriages between Buddhism and Hinduism. However, the history between the two kingdoms are quite complicated, thus it's best for you to research and read on your own. I've yet to understand the co-existence and the history of these two kingdoms.<br />

Anyway, when we got to the temple, apparently we were the first there. No one had gone in yet! For a long while, it was just me & FF exploring Prambanan temple. Prambanan was also founded by Stamford Raffles but before the official discovery, the locals actually knew about the temples ruins, only they didn't know about its historical value. Thus, the locals associate the Prambanan & Sewu temples into made up tales about Loro (aka Roro) Jonggrang. </div>

The Prambanan temple is dedicated to the Trimurti (Brahma, Visnu & Siva). So, here you will see the names for each temple dedicated to the specific God. The cause of abandonment of this temple could be the same as the abandonment of Borobudur. </div>

We enjoyed our own sweet time in the complex as they weren't many people anyway. When we were about to go from Prambanan to other temples, we saw a group of school children starting to go inside it. So our time was just right. We made our way to Sewu Temple. On the way we passed by two Buddhist temples, Lumbung & Bubrah. Lumbung is smaller than Bubrah but there was major restoration being carried out at Bubrah, so we weren't able to get into it.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sewu Temple is part of the Loro Jonggrang legend too. The story of the ancient legend in short is as below:</div>
<blockquote style="text-align: left;">
There was once two neigbouring kingdoms, Pengging and Boko. Each ruled by giants; Pengging by Prabu Damar Moyo who had a son Bandung Bondowoso and Boko ruled by a man-eating giant Prabu Boko who had a beautiful daughter named Rara Jonggrang (sometimes Roro, Loro or Lara). </blockquote>
<blockquote style="text-align: left;">
During a battle of land dispute, Prabu Boko was killed by Bandung Bondowoso's powers thus broke princess Rara Jonggrang's heart. Bandung Bondowoso fell in love with the princess' beauty when he beseige the palace and proposed marriage to her. As she is too heartbroken, she refused but the prince persisted. She then agrees but with two conditions:<br />
1. The prince must build a well named Jalatunda<br />
2. He must build 1000 temples in one night, before the sun rise. </blockquote>
<blockquote style="text-align: left;">
The Jalatunda was made and resided in Ratu Boko's palace.<br />
For the second condition, the prince conjured up his magic and started to construct the temples. When 999 temples have finished and the prince started to build the last one, the princess urged her maids to light a fire in the east and begin pounding rice, a dawn morning activity. This tricked the spirits who worked for the prince into thinking it was the sun rising and they left the temple unfinished. </blockquote>
<blockquote style="text-align: left;">
The prince, when learned of this deception became furious and cursed princess Rara Jonggrang into a stone, thus making her the 1000th temple, which is the Sewu temple. "Sewu" in Javanese means "seribu" (a thousand).</blockquote>

As we started our day early, we had a lot of time to spare. So, we went to the Ramayana Ballet theatre to buy tickets for the night's Ramayana Show. We paid 200k rupiah each for the seats. The cheapest is 125k seat which you will be seated at the side. If you're going on a weekday and a non-peak season, there will be a lot of seats. Here, you can pay by credit card.<br />

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
Continuation from <a href="http://virgobiru.blogspot.my/2017/02/iftravels-yogyakarta-29-jan-2-feb-2017_61.html">DAY 2 - BOROBUDUR's</a> post.<br />
<br />
Basically, we spent maybe less than 2 hours in Borobudur. Heads up, the exit to the parking lot is sooo long. You have to pass rows and rows of souvenir shops first before you're able to see food stalls and parking. We ate at one of the food stall before heading out to the Chicken Church.<br />
<br />
Gereja Ayam, or in English, the Chicken Church; is named as such because of its shape. But in reality, the person who built it actually meant it to look like a dove. He had a vision to build a prayer house that is open to all religion and also to be a center for charitable causes. However, because of money constraints due to the costs, the construction was halted and thus the building was left abandoned. The official name for the center is actually Rumah Doa Bukit Rhema (Bukit Rhema's Prayer House), fitting to its purpose as a multi-faith prayer house. But because the person who inspired to build this place is a Christian, locals around implied it as a church.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8r7lzF4Xrj12dF0Rquz7eRnl0-K0jHE1ETXLNYid0HY2xeWh_9DHMFX634dPBLblPgpJDC4viWseEYVBqYXB5F9PPm02Thu-dTCwt7Gr57rrN06Hm8xEzq7sM9dwPEke58A/s1600/gerejaayam.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8r7lzF4Xrj12dF0Rquz7eRnl0-K0jHE1ETXLNYid0HY2xeWh_9DHMFX634dPBLblPgpJDC4viWseEYVBqYXB5F9PPm02Thu-dTCwt7Gr57rrN06Hm8xEzq7sM9dwPEke58A/s400/gerejaayam.jpg" width="400" /></a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When the film AADC2 featured this building in it, the prayer house became much popular and visited by many youngsters. It started a hype and since then, the building reopened and construction work began again. The entry here is 5k rupiah per person (local price). You have to do a little bit of trekking and hiking here. Less than 500m but the last 100m hike is steep. We were brought to the underground floor first and was able to see many prayer rooms and meditation rooms. There is even a proper musollah inside. Then, we went up to crown. The view is incredible, you can see the top of Borobudur from here. Punthuk Setumbu is actually behind the tail of the chicken/dove.<br />

After our time at Bukit Rhema, we went to Merapi Jeep Tour. It depends on you whether you want to do the tour or not. We had a lot of time left, so decided impromptu to go on a jeep tour. The price is 350k rupiah per jeep and each jeep may carry up to 4 passengers + a driver. Payable by cash only here. The jeep tour has their own trail, it was quite extreme and enjoyable. But unfortunately for us, when we got close to the merapi, the fog covered it. We couldn't see Merapi up close. One thing to make sure when going for the Merapi tour, the sky is clear and no signs of rain.<br />

First stop is the Sisa Hartaku museum. This house was ruined by Merapi and its owner, Bapak Riyanto, dedicated this house and its ruined items as well as skeletons of animals (they're real!) as a place in reminder of Merapi's events. When visiting this place, your driver will be your guide so just ask him anything and he will gladly tell you everything you need to know.</div>

And that's our DAY 2. Seemed full but actually quite relaxing.The day here starts early. Subuh is at 415 AM and at 6 PM, it's already near Maghrib. Ultimately it depends on how you want to go about your day. Our Day 1 & 2 were quite relaxing, even Day 3 was not bad. Since it was just two of us, it felt as if we're on honeymoon haha.</div>

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
DAY 2<br />
<br />
We departed from the hotel as early as 530 AM because we want to get to Borobudur at their opening time. Borobudur opens to public at 6 AM. Although there is a sunrise ticket, that costs 450k per person! And that is just for Borobudur entry alone. Unfortunately, in Borobudur park, you can't try be a local because they will detect you straight away and ask you to present a KTP, which is equivalent of our IC. And also, the ticket for International is seriously far expensive than local. Nearly ten times the difference.<br />
<br />
Anyhow, we bought the combination ticket of Borobudur+Prambanan, USD 32 but they will charge you using rupiah. Here, you can use credit card. Once you pay, there is a voucher you can claim for drinks. Coffee, tea or mineral. I saw some people taking mineral bottle and still take the coffee. Not a problem. They also offer guided services but it's 50k rupiah per person. We decided not to take the guide because we want to have our own sweet time exploring the temple. We rushed our way and went straight into Borobudur.<br />
<br />
We headed straight up to the stupas because I wanted to get the best pictures and views in the morning. The stairs going up is quite steep, for elders (especially Asian elderly) it could be quite a feat. As soon as we got up to the stupas, although I expected it would be beautiful, seeing the stupas in real life and the morning view...I was bewildered. One would wonder how did the people who built this did it? For Stamford Raffles, who founded this Borobudur, what must he have thought when he saw this temple?<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
And then, suddenly I saw it. The mountain opposite Borobudur had lenticular clouds perching on top of it. God is great! I was overwhelmed! My heart went to my throat. I am witnessing one of nature's most unique formation! (Wiki: <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenticular_cloud" target="_blank">Lenticular Cloud</a>)<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
And so, we took tonnes of photos here. Up to the point that we felt that photos/videos won't do enough justice to what we are seeing. We decided to just enjoy the scenery, the ancient architecture, the history, etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Before coming to Yogyakarta, we watched a documentary about Borobudur. The story is intriguing whereby Stamford Raffles before becoming the founder of Singapore, resided in Indonesia and learned Bahasa from his teacher, Munsyi Abdullah. He was actually more interested in geography and history rather than politics. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When Raffles found Borobudur (with the help from locals), he kept it to himself for some time. Studied the structure and the carvings and even started to do simple restoration with his loyal locals. Little did he know that he had founded the largest Buddhist temple in the world, and that it was unique in its architecture traits whereby it incorporates Javanese and Buddhist design in its structure. The name "Borobudur" also was perhaps given by Stamford Raffles, as it is found in his book on Javan history. Although historians has many opinions on where it derived from, ultimately it would mean "A buddhist temple on top of a hill".</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Design of Borobudur structure is a complex Mandala but the meaning can be read from this excerpt here:</div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: left;">
<h3 style="background: none rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1.1em; line-height: 1.333em; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">
A clear state of mind</h3>
<div class="inline" id="perspective_1" style="background: none rgb(229, 239, 247); display: inline; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1.1em; line-height: 1.333em; padding: 0px 0px 8px;">
The Mandala is almost a symbolic representation of the cosmos itself. It mirrors the structure of the phenomenal world as understood by Buddhists at that time which consists on the basic level of the world of sensuality, and at Borobodur the base of the stupa represents the sensual world, the world of action, the world of trouble, the world of conflict.<br />
<br />
As you rise up the various levels of this three-dimensional mandala you come to the next layer which is that of the realm of pure form, and the four main galleries around which you walk on the stupa at Borobodur represent this rather more purified formal realm where the life of the Buddha is depicted on the friezes.<br />
<br />
But when you get to the upper level of the monument you suddenly find yourself without any forms at all, you just have the bare stonework and you have a dome, and then the central, uppermost crown of the monument has no image in it whatsoever. Whether that’s simply accidental, whether the image has been stolen, we just don’t know, but it conforms with the idea of moving as one rises in one’s spiritual practice from a kind of rooted-ness in the sensory confused world of passion and suffering and one rises through purer forms until one reaches a formless realm where one has somehow liberated one’s mind from all those things that have somehow caught it up in the messiness of life and has achieved a perspective. When you are at Borobodur you are standing on this great monument, you can see the entire world around you, beneath you, it’s an enormous experience of spaciousness, of freedom, and a far vaster perspective – a clear state of mind.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I wish I could write about Borobudur here, but I'm not an expert. I'm not even a Buddhist to understand thoroughly what the meanings of the carvings are; all I know is it talks about reincarnation.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I found that <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borobudur" target="_blank">Borobudur's Wikipedia</a> page is sufficient enough for you to read about it. If reading is not your thing, find a documentary about it. One thing to note, there is a Buddha in each stupas on Borobudur. And there is a reason for the mandala design, especially for Buddhist monks.<br />
<br />
Why Borobudur was left abandoned despite it being an important place of worship during that time? Historians believe it was either because of Mount Merapi's eruption that drove people away from Borobudur or there was mass conversion to Islam after the era of Buddhism and Hinduism. </div>

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
DAY 1<br />
<br />
Our flight was at 630 AM (Malaysia time). Subuh at 615 AM, so once it's Subuh time, we prayed at a corner. People were queuing up to go inside the plane and we saw some jemaah forming a line to pray. We followed since both of us still had our wudhu'. You can choose to pray inside the plane, no worries.<br />
<br />
We landed roughly at 8-830 AM (Yogyakarta time). Their time is ahead an hour from Malaysia's time. After settling the immigration and the custom declaration, we met our supir, Agung. As soon as we got in the car, the first destination is Taman Sari (Water Castle).<br />
<br />
When buying the ticket, speak Indonesian. And make sure you have small change. The local ticket is 5k rupiah per person but for International, 15k per person. There will be people offering guided services, they costs usually around 20k-50k rupiah.<br />
<br />
Taman Sari was once a royal garden of the Yogyakarta Sultanate perhaps during the era of 1760s. This complex is now surrounded with local settlements around and it is quite hard to navigate through without guide. The pools in the castle is thought to have been where concubines of the king bathe while waiting to be chosen.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH9OK4nORnaBVNdv4R5XhuF9JFW5nTzz32f4sjlGPSgHGQeI_wqP1dPx1Uq6azshxuZ2z3Q1GSfBlkY__RkTzEs2mCrCWsaVGiAHHjlcM-vS4xMNgdFXtrfpFnK97jAjuM3w/s1600/Sari1.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH9OK4nORnaBVNdv4R5XhuF9JFW5nTzz32f4sjlGPSgHGQeI_wqP1dPx1Uq6azshxuZ2z3Q1GSfBlkY__RkTzEs2mCrCWsaVGiAHHjlcM-vS4xMNgdFXtrfpFnK97jAjuM3w/s400/Sari1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
The Taman Sari complex is actually very large but people have built settlements all around the complex, so one have to ask around or ask a guide to help to go through all the complex. Above picture is when we were trying to find our way back to the Taman Sari after getting lost in the kampung.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Unfortunately, we didn't get to spend much time here because we got lost and already tired to find our way through. Well then, that can be a reason for a next visit! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Next, we went to Bantul area. Here is the famous Hutan Pinus. But our supir brought us not just to Hutan Pinus, but to other places as well. And it was definitely such a hit! Hutan Pinus is a new attraction in Jogjakarta because of its vast pine trees area. The moment we arrived here, it rained heavily. So we hang out in a tree house, and ate lunch with Agung. Mind you, it's a custom that you pay for your driver's food here and if you are not fussy and opt for local stall, the food is extremely cheap! Much cheaper than the food in Jakarta-Bandung.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just a simple Indomee.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Even after raining, Pinus Forest look so beautiful. Fog started to engulf the area. And your scenery become mysterious. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkjPoVOqRScwL47Jlr95fs1_DOcc3sKAs3S3vWjuGU9oBu50w7qsivLKGDV0LX73Ie_idfmQjLN2mPw2zjUzE_nSekIze0YGeaAR4jw8T3E27u321okcOZVpmrUTnk1Rs_xg/s1600/pinus1.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkjPoVOqRScwL47Jlr95fs1_DOcc3sKAs3S3vWjuGU9oBu50w7qsivLKGDV0LX73Ie_idfmQjLN2mPw2zjUzE_nSekIze0YGeaAR4jw8T3E27u321okcOZVpmrUTnk1Rs_xg/s640/pinus1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We captured enough pictures at Pinus although not that many, because the people who took care of the forest wanted to close the area. The wind was so strong during and after the rain, so for safety reason the pinus sites need to be closed. They were afraid of branches falling and hitting tourists.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next, we went straight to Puncak Becici. As a traveller, one knows that it is most convenient wearing sneakers instead of heels or flats or unfit shoes for whatever activity that you want to do. I think that's the difference in traveling and holiday. Travelling means you are exploring, sometimes spontaneously (AADC2 quote). Many times, I want to be like a stylo traveller. But I realized, all that "stylish traveling" is just fake. Real traveling is enjoying your journey and the destination. Sometimes, just sitting and breathing in the atmosphere.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There were actually many places for photography sake at Becici. But I don't want to bombard this entry with too many pictures. You have to go for yourself!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next up, Jurang Tembelan, for the ever famous (at least among locals) "perahu terbang". It is really near Mangunan view point. But in my honest opinion, if you've taken in the view from Jurang Tembelan, you don't need to go to Mangunan. However, because we went there on a Sunday, the queue for the ship is quite long.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So that's our 1st day. We checked in at our hotel after visiting the places.<br />
After checking in and all, we were advised that there is a free shuttle departing to Malioboro every 2 hours and the last pickup is at 9 PM. So that night, we went out and did mostly window shopping at Malioboro.<br />
<br />
We went back to our hotel by using GoCar because the 9PM pickup were already full.<br />
The fare from Malioboro to our hotel (Hyatt Regency) was 36,000 rupiah.<br />
For the Hutan Pinus, Puncak Becici, Jurang Tembelan and Mangunan, we paid for parking, which is about 2k-5k each.<br />
<br />

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
Recently, me & FF went to Jogja and posted a bunch of pictures on our Instagram. We were taken by surprise when a lot of our friends contacted us via whatsapp and FB (my FB) asking us about places we went to.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9bCK-N5BEeDVToM735HFVP_XEKO92fT9ONgiyDu63Eg6Lpn126hyvqarYtJob6cUgkWfLEWWkWfmwz5gQ3xDb1otlwvZWlLOhQTfAXruqwO_hv_5oOthpl3ZlC7J5CUfRsw/s1600/instafeed.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9bCK-N5BEeDVToM735HFVP_XEKO92fT9ONgiyDu63Eg6Lpn126hyvqarYtJob6cUgkWfLEWWkWfmwz5gQ3xDb1otlwvZWlLOhQTfAXruqwO_hv_5oOthpl3ZlC7J5CUfRsw/s1600/instafeed.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Although it wasn't the first time we were asked about our travels, but this time, the amount of people who asked about our Jogja trip is a lot more than we had experienced before. Apparently, many of our friends had Jogja for their upcoming travel destination.<br />
<br />
FF had always love going to Indonesia ever since I brought him to Bali and then to Jakarta-Bandung and afterwards to Medan. The diversity of people and cultures, the lives they lead in the vast land of Indonesia appeals to him. So, going to Jogja was definitely on our plan.<br />
<br />
One day, FF told me, "Cuti Chinese New Year book la pegi somewhere. Lama cuti, sia2 je tak pegi mana2." For FF's kinda work, he has more or less 2 weeks to go somewhere. But, it is after all CHINESE NEW YEAR. The flights to almost everywhere were crazily expensive! About RM1,400/person to Bali, RM2,000 if I'm not mistaken to Chiang Mai/Siem Reap/Korea/Japan. After many many time spent on tickets scouting, I found out that Lombok and Jogja are two places which has the most reasonable prices during CNY.<br />
<br />
FF immediately agreed for Jogja. Why? Borobudur, enough said. My mom has been pushing us to go to Jogja. She knows that both FF and me love to explore a place with stories and she has been telling us to go there since long ago. And so, we booked the tickets to Jogjakarta. Air Asia. To be honest, I have always tried to steer away from AA. Because a lot of times I think the price is not that cheap after you add baggage and food etc. Trust me, Malindo is better value. Anyway, we took AirAsia because I have about 50,000 BIG points that I redeemed from my share tradings. My flight fare and our food were free. We only need to pay for FF's fare, the checked in baggage from Jogja and our airport taxes, about RM500+.<br />
<br />
Note: In Jogjakarta, the bag system is pretty strict. The guards will make sure you have one hand carry and one small cabin bag going into the plane. If they suspect your bag is heavy, they will weigh your bag. I've read in other blogs about this too.<br />
<br />
Naturally, after confirming, it's time to study where to go and most importantly, transportation. There is no Uber or Grab in Jogjakarta. Instead, they use Indonesia's most popular online rider app, Go.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEZrAAz3vg7K7s5zOzgMWDjgMSG4qpZ4YKuFKcQKEeRtJS5oG1t_UNmWqOY9O0GE1hT6vhZS-OtDT41Az-Tu0qHBllKb0NR4r1idYKr3xvyZORQG19x41rGZjGxxKrdFHjNA/s1600/go-aplikasi.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEZrAAz3vg7K7s5zOzgMWDjgMSG4qpZ4YKuFKcQKEeRtJS5oG1t_UNmWqOY9O0GE1hT6vhZS-OtDT41Az-Tu0qHBllKb0NR4r1idYKr3xvyZORQG19x41rGZjGxxKrdFHjNA/s1600/go-aplikasi.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
In one application, there is everything. For cars, GoCar. Motorcycles, Gojek (widely use in Jakarta). Food, GoFood. And etc. But since we want to have our own supir, I use our best friend, Google. I got one from Google, one from Mom and one, while we were in Jogja. Standard price for car and driver in Jogja is 500k rupiah per day. Our supirs' names are Agung & Agus. Both has their own charm but I think we saved more with Agung, whereas Agus has more experience with foreigners.<br />
<br />
In terms of knowing where to go and such, I've actually been following local travel sites for some time and already have in mind places that I want to go. Will be posting about the itinerary in the next post. Bear in mind, my itinerary is done to cater my wants and needs. I will tell you some sites that I did not go, but may interest you to go.<br />

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
I am blessed to be surrounded by people who are really nice and care about me. Alhamdulillah! Thank you Ya Allah!<br />
<br />
While we were preparing our mind for Hajj (which in the end was not our time yet according to Allah), a friend gave us some books regarding Hajj. One of it is a book by Ismail Davids, <b>"Getting the Best out of Hajj"</b>. And I must say, how absolutely insightful, informative and is THE perfect book to get you ready for Hajj. Couple it with watching his video on Rituals of Hajj (<a href="http://virgobiru.blogspot.my/2016/09/understanding-rituals-of-hajj.html" target="_blank">here</a>), and I assure you, your mindset will change.<br />
<br />
Today, the very last flight will depart to Jeddah for the Hajj season. We are here at home, having come to terms that it is not our time yet since the last 2 days. And I received this from my sister's mother-in-law (via my sister)...they are residing in US,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7WHBo6s1O_dzkUpnlDD2cP-ZyoEDYT3DYnbYOCzJbeL60bDecvhDa7jQ2ok0-A8MEB-iRxMguyK36loMlwWJZ16SyJsc4gJUEd8Id1wfOatpl78xFZWADN4icNhbeNi-laA/s1600/WhatsApp+Image+2016-09-09+at+10.05.55.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7WHBo6s1O_dzkUpnlDD2cP-ZyoEDYT3DYnbYOCzJbeL60bDecvhDa7jQ2ok0-A8MEB-iRxMguyK36loMlwWJZ16SyJsc4gJUEd8Id1wfOatpl78xFZWADN4icNhbeNi-laA/s320/WhatsApp+Image+2016-09-09+at+10.05.55.jpeg" width="179" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
I immediately felt touched at her gesture. Perhaps because few days before the last 2 days, we had news that our chances in going to Hajj was 80%. We got everything ready. But nearing to the day, our chances seemed bleak. That was when I watched Ismail Davids' video and his words about Allah's will for our Hajj journey soothed me. Up til today, I feel calm. I'm looking at days ahead of me now and move on. We will have our chance to go, it is all up to Allah. We have done our best, but Allah knows best. Thank you Aunty for the kind words and reminder!<br />
<br />
Looking back, even when we were uncertain whether we would go for Hajj or not, our friends keep encouraging us and giving positive words, mostly at the lines of, "You absolutely will go."<br />
One of our friends (who has gone for Hajj last year), gave me tips and told me to keep calm and help me through my stress about Hajj (in the early preparation).<br />
<br />
Ya Allah, I feel so blessed with the friends that I am surrounded with. Thank you for bringing them into my life. As much as they pray for me and wish me well, I wish the same for them too and pray that they are given the same blessings that You have given me. Amin.<br />

<br />
Rezeki tu Allah yang tetapkan.<br />
<br />
<br />
Perkara sekecil mata,<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Tapi, tentunya kita manusia. Kadang2 kita ingat, kadang2 kita lupa.<br />
Cuma, harapnya kita selalu la ingat daripada lupa.<br />
<br />
<br />
Amin.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Assalamualaikum,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have been reading the book "Getting the best out of Hajj" by Ismail Davids and thought that it is a very very informative book on Hajj.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's 6 Sept today, 4 Zulhijjah. It is getting closer to Hajj yet there is no news of whether we will be going or not.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have accepted that it may not be our calling yet, Allah is indeed the best planners. I believe He knows when I should go.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway, I just watched this video about understanding the rituals of Hajj by Ismail Davids and what a great talk this is! Everyone who wants to go to Hajj should watch this. Do the basic readings of Hajj and then watch this. I'm sure this will change you a little bit.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
May we be able to perform Hajj & get the best out of it even after making the Hajj and coming back home. Ameen.</div>

It's mid August. We are waiting for our Hajj call..not quite sure whether we are able to join the Hajj this year..but somehow I have a feeling we might. Insyallah. If God wills it.<br>
Thing is, I've been doing readings on Hajj etc..and I still think that my knowledge of Islam is so below par compared to say, FF.<br>
He seems to be relaxed...not that much preparation..I guess due to the fact that one of his friends have gone for Hajj and he himself have gone for Umrah like..8 times? <br>
Meanwhile..I have only gone for Umrah once. And I feel that I'm lacking A LOT in myself, in my knowledge. <br>
I now might be a little depressed. My morale is down. I think so little of myself. I have been feeling that I am not a good mother..I can't teach them properly..I see the kids playing but when it comes to studying, when I try to teach them..I know nothing. <br>
Thank God that I've not felt like wanting to hurt myself like I used to...<br>
I'm tensed up. Right now I feel like going somewhere and just be by myself alone. I used to do this..go to the park behind my house and just sit on the grass alone. Calm my thoughts...just be with the nature. I remember it soothes me.<br>
Lately, so many things on my mind. Clouding. FF doesn't understand..he's too busy. Besides, he thinks I'm just lazying around all day.<br>
Am I? </p>
<p dir="ltr">I don't know. Things like this makes me feel like I'm stupid.<br>
I'm writing nonsense. </p>

Assalamualaikum.<br />
<br />
<br />
Have you ever feel so down that all you think about is wanting to die?<br />
Truth is, I have an unsettling feeling inside my heart since a long long time now and it does not ever want to go away.<br />
I'm looking at everybody negatively and I feel the negativity tugging inside my heart most of the time.<br />
I hate it. I hate this feeling.<br />
<br />
For the longest time, I have asked Allah to help me & guide me. To get rid of this feeling. This negativeness. Sometimes, it subsides. But it never goes away. I want to tell FF everything, but I know that I won't stop crying if I start. And it is hard to put how I feel into words.<br />
<br />
Today, I feel like I don't deserve to be here, I don't deserve to live. I masked my filthy self with smiles, with things that fool people into thinking that I'm happy. I mean, I am happy with my life mostly, but it's myself that I'm not happy with. I don't understand why I am here, with this 'thing' inside me. Is it eating my soul? I don't know...maybe. I do know that I despise it so much but I just can't get away. I hate & am ashamed with the sifat2 mazmumah in myself. I ask Allah to help me get rid of them, yet to no avail. Why Allah has not given me the answers, guiding me to be good? Maybe I don't deserve to be good?<br />
<br />
Yes, today I feel like wanting to die. Because I feel I have nothing to offer Allah.<br />
It's like every thing I do, is never enough to grant me Paradise or even a piece of His blessings.<br />

Assalamualaikum.<br />
<br />
Ramadhan is here again! Yay!<br />
At the moment, I'm super busy with lots of stuff. Market is not so great so far but there is a glimmer of hope recently. Hoping for the 2nd half to bulk up. I'm being a PA to FF now so I do a lot of his work stuff, mostly related to papers. Yesterday whilst reading the Quran, I was overcomed by how much Allah has given us. I thanked Him and I also thought about how we are often less grateful of what we have.<br />
<br />
Anyway, FF now is outstation, in a land away from Peninsular. He just WA-ed me asking if I want lobster. I'm thinking how should I cook it?<br />
<br />
Today is only the 2nd day of Ramadhan. Yesterday was the first and for me, I started it with being so unproductive. The night before I slept late about 1++ AM and woke up at 4am to send FF to the airport. We had our Sahur/Suhoor in the car. I reached home, did my Subuh prayer, and then slept. Oh, before that during Sahur I had to take a cough+flu medicine. I seemed to have contracted the virus from FF. And it made me drowsy the whole day! My body felt tired even though I tried to fight it. I slept quite some hours in the day too. Good thing my body "woke up" after Asar.<br />
<br />
So yesterday night I slept earlier and woke up at 5AM. I feel quite energized right now even though I just did an exercise routine that was quite hard. Oh, an update, I'm now joining Yoga. Hehe. I have always wanted to Yoga but always malas to do it. Then, I started joining a friend's class and it was so liberating. It was peaceful and calm and motivating too.<br />
<br />
It's 740AM. I think I better start doing some real work.<br />
Til next post.<br />
Ramadhan Kareem people!<br />

<br />
Found this on FB and thought that this is worth for my reference. I'm posting it here.<br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16.08px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
Saidina Ali bin Abi Talib RA merumuskan cara-cara untuk melayan anak:-</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16.08px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
1. Kelompok pertama 7 tahun (umur 0-7 tahun), melayan anak sebagai raja.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16.08px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
2. Kelompok kedu<span class="text_exposed_show" style="display: inline;">a 7 tahun (umur 8-14 tahun), melayan anak sebagai tawanan.</span></div>
<div class="text_exposed_show" style="background-color: white; color: #666666; display: inline; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16.08px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
3. Kelompok ketiga 7 tahun (umur 15-21 tahun), melayan anak sebagai sahabat.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
► ANAK SEBAGAI RAJA (umur 0-7 tahun)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
► ANAK SEBAGAI TAWANAN (umur 8-14 tahun)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
1. Menunaikan solat wajib lima kali sehari.<br />2.
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
Walau bagaimanapun, layanan terhadap setiap anak mestilah berbeza kerana setiap kanak-kanak mempunyai ciri-ciri yang berbeza (kerana setiap anak mempunyai keunikan tersendiri).</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
► ANAK SEBAGAI SAHABAT (umur 15-21 tahun)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
Perlu diberitahu tentang perubahan fizikal.
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; margin-top: 1em;">
"Ya Rabbku, berilah kepadaku dari sisi Engkau keturunan yang baik. Sesungguhnya engkau adalah Maha Mendengar Doa." (Al-Quran, Ali Imran: 38).</div>

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
I found that the topic in FB today centered around Malay people getting help & food from churches. Many Malay claimed that churches have been extra helpful to them in terms of charity.<br />
<br />
One post mentioning that they are getting food from churches whereas there are none like this from mosques. I feel really sad hearing this. Because as far as I know, there are a LOT of masjid who giveaway food to people. Especially around maghrib prayers. After maghrib, tons of mosques give free food to people, so I'm not quite sure if the people who make these claims go to enough masjid or not.<br />
<br />
The people who make these claims are Malays, complaining about other Malays. I think it's fair to say that they are targeting Malays as a race, not Islam, the religion. It is unfair though to say that there are no charity given to others by the mosques. Maybe, some mosques have rules in terms of no sleeping, no loitering, etc. But in general, I find mosques to be awesome, calm place to be in.<br />
<br />
I suggest these people who complains a lot to try and go to a lot of mosques. Small and big ones.<br />
I believe you will see that there are a lot of other mosques that gives free food too. You want free food right?<br />
How about other charity, you may ask. Try and go on weekends, if you're lucky, they may have some kind of free market over at the mosques.<br />
<br />
Do not blame the religion, but blame the race. Or rather the individual that hurt you.<br />
That individual (Malay, I assume) has been tempted by satan to hurt your feelings and You, too, have fallen to satan's trap in feeling hurt and sharing this hurt with other people out there.<br />
It's okay, we are human. We constantly make mistakes, every second of every day.<br />
<br />
Allah, have mercy on all of us.<br />

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
Innalillahiwainnahirojiun.<br />
Just heard that a friend's child has been diagnosed with diabetes type 1. His child is about the same age as Lulu. It was just sudden. The news is heartbreaking.<br />
But what is more heart breaking is the next story he told. They were in ICU and the next bed was a baby who had severe denggi. That baby died afterwards.<br />
Truly heart breaking. The mother was inconsolable. Obviously.<br />
I straightaway imagined if these things happen to my girls. But I had to force myself not to.<br />
I had to fight myself from crying when I think about these things.<br />
<br />
Just a week ago, Lulu recovered from denggi. We believe that it was contracted while we were in Kota Tinggi for a wedding, after considering the timeline. She first had the fever the day we landed in Perth. The day after we arrived home, I took her to the clinic and the doctor tested her for denggi. It was positive.<br />
<br />
The doctor said that we were lucky nothing bad happened while we were in Perth.<br />
Allah is great. At the last minute, we asked my mom to follow us to Perth so when Lulu was down with fever, we had extra hands to take care of her. She was okay in the morning but as afternoon comes, she will get so weak.<br />
<br />
When I heard about the baby, I immediately thought about Lulu and felt so thankful and grateful to Allah for keeping her safe. I thought about myself not being a good enough mother. I thought about death and the kids, and I'm scared. I won't be able to face it. I thought about death and FF and me, and I'm scared too. I feel like I'm not fit to be in heaven and I'll surely go to hell. And then I thought about who will take care of the kids?<br />
<br />
I try as much as I can to not be too worldly. Often, I feel like what matters is life. As much as we all want to be rich, the utmost important thing is our happiness in life. Having a lot of money will not bring you happiness if it cannot keep you happy and content. I ask Allah to give me & my family the best life for us..I just want to be content. I do ask for more rezeki from Him, but I also want Him to not give me too much if it means I will stray further away from Him.<br />
<br />
Right now, the most precious rezeki Allah has given me is all of my family; parents, siblings, husband, kids, grandmother, etc. I can't imagine losing them, at all.<br />
<br />
Okay, tears threatening to fall. Bye.<br />
<br />

Assalamualaikum,<br />
<br />
It's hard for me to blog about my travels in here. I mostly do it on my instagram. Do checkout @ilynnvirgobiru .<br />
<br />
Anyway, today I was reminded during a time that a friend dislike me for no good reason. It didn't occur to me about it until I wished her Happy Birthday and she replied about being sorry for her actions towards me and so forth. In truth, although I suspected that she somehow was against me but I never did thought much about it. I ignore the things happening around me.<br />
<br />
And recently, I think a similar thing happened. But I choose to ignore.<br />
I want to live my life the way I want to and not be bothered about others being mean to me or my family.<br />
I'll admit it does tugs at your heart when things go bad, but it's not my fault anyway.<br />
If other people cannot change, then just be patient and ignore whatever that does not suit you.<br />
I'd like to think that I myself is changing. Hopefully improving.<br />
<br />
I ask Allah to help me through my journey and keep my heart mind positive.<br />
